So, after weeks of extreme stress, a lot of tears, phone calls between midnight and 5am by Deepak to speak to the Ministry people directly in Russian and assurances by them, Deepak just called the Ministry person he has been talking to in Aktobe and Galina has just informed him that the new passport has been received today from Astana! Tanya should now be picking up the passport and sending it for the stamp to leave the country-in Aktobe. After which it will be sent to Astana for a stamp by the ministry of external affairs I believe, to be registered. Then it comes back to Aktobe or goes directly to Moscow with someone personally via train or Plane whatever Tanya can manage. This will avoid the courier time - there is only 1 company that accepts passports for couriering in that area and they are very slow, Liana said. So Tanya will be trying to send it with someone personally, to the contact in Moscow who is to get that part taken care of.
In Moscow, we are hoping the ongoing (4+mnths now)strike by the consul staff at the Canadian Embassy will not cause further delays in issuing Ayaan's visa on his new passport as he is coming as a Permanent Resident right now. Email and Ph numbers are ready (Thanks Jeea!) to call in Moscow to apply pressure, beg, request them to issue the said visa so that we can finally bring our son home.
