So, T went to the ministry in Astana as planned, on Tuesday, but for some reason she was asked to reschedule it and go tomorrow instead. So now the meeting is on 10th Jan, tomorrow.
The wait and sleepless nights continue...
I must give a lot of credit to Liana, for her patience with my 1000 questions and my anxiety at this time. I don't know how she does what she does, but hats off to her. She is awesome!
http://www.adoption-horizons-kazakhstan.com/ this is our agency, and Liana our amazing, super nice and helpful coordinator.
Also, yesterday, Michel, the coordinator of the Canadian Yahoo Group of Kaz families started a very useful and good chain of emails where everyone in the group is introducing themselves, where they adopted from, with suggestions/tips that will be very helpful to us newbies in the process. Connecting with moms through this interaction is wonderful and will probably lead to some lifelong relationships in the future I think, if we meet.
Hi, my name is Jennifer. We are Canadian as well and the proud parents to a son adopted in Kazakhstan and are just starting the process to adopt from Kaz again. I was so excited when I came across your blog! I hope you will let me follow your journey. Good luck with the meeting tomorrow. Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! You are most welcome! And thanks :)
ReplyDeleteAre you in Ontario as well? AH or CARC? How far along are you? Did you write a blog too with your son's journey?
We are in Manitoba, but are working with CARC this time around because our original agency hasn't been approved in Kazakhstan yet. We have a blog from our first adoptions which you are more than welcome to check out, but we haven't updated in a long time! (Matthew just turned 7!) (www.wonderfulworldofkaz.blogspot.ca) We are just waiting for a couple of references before everything goes to the province for approval, so a bit of a ways to go. How has your process been so far? Have you ever heard of Kazapalooza? It is a gathering of families who have or are in the process of adopting from Kazakhstan. We have gone twice now (it is in Texas this year in June) and love it. We are hoping to go every year and have kept in touch with many of the families, 4 of which adopted their child at the same time and from the same baby house as Matthew! Sorry, didn't mean to bombard you with all that! I just get a little excited when I find another family whose children were born in Kaz and I am waiting to hear what city 'palooza will be in, so it is a hot topic in our house these days! Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Look fwd to reading it. :) yes! I have read all about Kazapalooza and that its in Texas this yr. not sure if we will make it this yr since we might have just returned a few mnths before, and will be getting adjusted to our new life (yay!). But def plan on going for the next one! How exciting to know other people who adopted from the same baby house! Actually I just found a group of families who adopted from Aktobe, where we shud be headed soon, and Im really excited about talking to them, and perhaps meeting them at Kazapalooza next time. Our process has been going pretty well thus far Id say. Sme hiccups that caused some delays, but all for a good cause so no stress there. Just excitement about the referral and stress abt selling our home asap. I also just got mails from moms in Ottawa so Im really looking fwd to hooking up with them and talking to them over coffee soon.
ReplyDeleteIts going to be so exciting for you! Will you go with your son for the bonding period? 3 trips now.
How great that there there are other families in your area! Our closest , that I know of is 3 hours away. Yes we are planning on taking Matthew with us, he is excited! I see I wrote that he is 7, not sure if I touched the wrong number or what, but he is 6! The 3 trips has me worried, do you think they might let us stay in country (or even one of us?) oh well, it will be what it is and we will make it work. Like you said, all for a good cause! Jennifer
