Just wanted to take a moment to wish Milo, son of Regina Garza Ruopoli, someone I met through good ol' FB and fellow AP, who adopted her adorable son also from Aktobe, here in Kazakhstan. I wanted to make a special mention of this special day for them since we are here currently in the same place that they were 5 yrs back when they met and their journey as a family began, same as ours, super scary and full of trepidations at first but changing every day as they too saw their son blossom into the wonderful child that he is. May your lives always be filled with laughter and happiness and togetherness.
Much love from your birthplace, Milo...here in Aktobe (Aktobye as they call it here). :) Had a Pirazhok with a pastry in your honor tonight.

You are so kind!!! Thank you for your thoughtful words and wishes. There is a special connection between families who have shared this wild, wonderful experience. I love reading about your experience, and I am so happy for you and your new son! The time since our trip has passed so quickly in some ways, and slowly in others. Before you know it you will be celebrating your own special anniversaries. We give a gift to our son on each Meetcha Day - something we bought for him in Kaz.
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome. I am very thankful to you for sharing your story when we were so worried about the Strabismus situation too. I agree Regina, there definitely is a very special connection between all our families, having walked the same shoes as each other in so many ways. Time is flying by so fast, even though I want our 'regular life' to start with him soon, we really are enjoying this very special time too. we complete 3 weeks of bonding tomorrow. 1 more to go. :)
